Both boys are doing well today. I fed Drake one bottle, but the little guy tired out after it was about 1/3 done, and had to have the rest by gavage tube. His nurses are waiting until tomorrow to try again. If he burns up too much energy trying to suckle, he could start losing weight, and we sure don't want that to happen! Yesterday was a big weight gain day for Drake - he's now 4 lb 2 oz.
Little Leo is being weaned off the oxygen in his nasal cannula. When we left the NICU last night, he was getting about 60% oxygen in the low flow cannula. Today, he was getting about 40% oxygen. Leo has decided that he's had enough of the cannula - he keeps pulling the prongs out of his nose! Who can blame him? Leo didn't gain any weight yesterday, but he was also a little poop machine, so we weren't expecting him to gain much anyway ;-). He weighed in at 2lb 13 oz.

Karol, thank you for the daily update. I took the first picture and made it my computer's background image here at work, but when I came in the next morning, the computer had erased it. So each new picture gets to be the background of the day. People who pop into the office have begun to comment on the boys' progress.
Beautiful picture! That was really nice of the nurse to take the picture of the boys. They are so handsome.
They may be small but such fighters. Your doctors and nurses are working hard for your two little miracles. Hope hubby is doing OK. Thanks for the updates, they mean so much.
