Today, little Drake was dressed in nerd pants that nearly went up to his armpits. The little guy doesn't know it yet, but he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of being a cool dude - not with 2 super dork parents. These nerd pants gave him a jumpstart into dorkdom.
While Leo is quite a bit smaller than Drake, the size difference isn't nearly as big as it seems in this picture, because Drake is stretched out as if he is sunbathing, and Leo is more balled up. Leo is actually wearing a newborn sized onsie (decorated by his Grammy), that was way, way to big on him just 2 weeks ago. It's still big on him, but it is just barely too big.
When I went to change Drake's little diaper, I realized he had puke right in the middle of the back of his head. Apparently, this is how it happened:
It's a good thing that Drake is such a mellow little guy, otherwise he might have gotten his feelings hurt today from all the teasing.
Today was another medically uneventful day for the boys. Drake is still being bottle fed about 4 times a day, while Leo only took 2 bottles today. Drake gained another ounce yesterday, so he's now sitting at 4 lb 6 oz. Leo only gained about 10 grams, so he's roughly 2 lb 15.6 oz. Leo's nurse is cutting back on his bottle feedings because he's burning up too many calories while suckling.
Leo is still on the nasal cannula, but he is slowly being weaned off of it. His cannula is flowing 28% oxygen, which is only slightly above atmospheric oxygen (21%). It will be a wonderful, amazing day when Leo stops needing the cannula, even if it will make it more difficult to tell the boys apart.

Karol and Matt, I have to refute your statement that Drake and Leo have no chance of being cool considering their parents! You and Matt are way cool, and doing an amazing job of managing this very stressful NICU time. They are lucky boys to have such smart and completely committed mama and daddy. These pictures are the sweetest, but Matt is right in saying they aren't nearly as cute as the boys in person. What alert, handsome little men they are for being such snippets. Nana loves you Drake and Leo!

I agree with Nana Karla! They don't have a snowball chance in hell being NERDS, especially if Aunt Kena and Uncle Fred have anything to do with it!!
