We saw all kinds of fun stuff in the museum's gallery area. Leo was especially fond of the African carved stone elephant.
But the best part of the museum is the children's play area, called Artville. Leo had fun crawling around in the toddler section, where he found a delicious yellow ball.
Then we explored the rest of Artville. The squishy rubber floor was very interesting.
But then Leo found a tiny chair, perfect for climbing!
It wasn't all fun and games, however. Leo made sure to squeeze in a session of practice standing.
And walking.
And even more practice walking.
After he finished his exercises, Leo painted his first picture!
Then we left the museum. We attempted to treat Leo to his very first ice cream cone before driving home.
He didn't want anything to do with it.
Not even when I tried to force it into his mouth.
Don't let the sweet expression on his face fool you - his jaws were wired shut. What cruel parents! How dare we attempt to feed him ice cream?
Leo had a great time! He squeaked and squealed with glee for about 45 seconds after we strapped him into his car seat, then he promptly fell asleep.
When we arrived home, Drake and Grandpa were at the park. Drake came home with a look of pure joy on his face, a rock tightly clenched in one hand and a pine cone in the other. Here's a photo grandpa took of Drake examining his pine cone treasure.

I love all of these photos. If they were my babies I would walpaper my entire house with these images.
